Woman dies after being impaled by beach umbrella in Garden City

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A lady was impaled Wednesday in Back garden City by a beach umbrella in what appeared to be a freak incident.

According to the Horry County Coroner, Tammy Perreault, 63, of Surfside Beach, was struck and impaled by a seashore umbrella that was carried by the wind about 12:40 p.m.

Suffering from chest trauma, she was taken to Waccamaw ER exactly where she succumbed to her injuries at 1:33 p.m.

Perreault was to begin with furnished health-related treatment by off-obligation health-related specialists and great Samaritans while awaiting very first responders in accordance to Thomas Bell, a spokesperson for Horry County Crisis Management.

Scotty’s Seashore Bar in Surfside Seaside posted on social media about Perreault and the decline.
