Glenview’s Inaugural Winterfest!

Benefiting the Glenview Park Foundation, the village’s first-ever Winterfest promises fun and excitement on and off the ice. Kids can register for 3v3 hockey tournaments, learn the basics of speedskating with the Northbrook Speedskating Club, or compete against their age group with state-of-the-art RapidShot and RapidHands training equipment. Teens and adults can learn to curl with an experienced instructor and with all equipment provided.

Political Satire + Musical Parody = DC’s Reflecting Fools 

If you enjoy political satire, this large dose of entertainment and laughter might just be what the doctor ordered. Created by the talented performers and co-writer from the Capitol Steps, DC’s Reflecting Fools is a new performance ensemble that will bring their hilarious parody songs to Skokie.

Groundhog Day: Meet the Guest of Honor 

Geared to children ages 3 and up, this fun 1-hour event is hosted by a 5-foot tall groundhog! Learn about the traditions of Groundhog Day and hear about the creature’s amazing winter life. Then step outdoors to visit its home. Skits, crafts and hot chocolate round out this fun, family-friendly gathering.

Delight in Roald Dahl’s Matilda On Stage 

Celebrating its 80th year, Northwestern University’s annual Dolphin Show is the largest student-produced musical in the country. This year, they’re thrilled to present a joyous celebration of Roald Dahl’s timeless novel. Packed with high-energy dance numbers and memorable music, Matilda tells the story of an amazing girl who uses her brilliant mind, strength and imagination to stand up for herself—and change her destiny.

When Science and Art Come Together 

Over the past decade, American artist Dario Robleto has been contemplating the emotional significance of scientific instruments from the cardiograph to the telescope. Many of his resulting works are conceptually ambitious, elegantly wrought, multisensory encounters between art and science. Now on exhibit, “The Heart’s Knowledge” marks the culmination of Robleto’s 5-year engagement as Artist-at-Large in Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science.
