ADRIAN — A back garden at an condominium on Adrian’s west side is the Adrian Women’s Backyard garden Club’s Back garden of the Thirty day period for June.
Sharlene Drake’s garden at Nob Hill Flats No. 63 in the Emerson building has been decades in the earning, according to Sandra Hoover, spokesperson for the Adrian Women’s Backyard garden Club.
“Sharlene begun this yard 17 years back when she moved,” Hoover said in an electronic mail. “It started out slowly and gradually and now it has largely developed.”
Drake’s condominium-surrounding yard characteristics hostas, roses, dianthus and lilies. There are also several hanging baskets affixed to the exterior of the condominium complex. Drake does significantly of the maintenance and treatment for the bouquets and garden, Hoover stated.
The Adrian Women’s Backyard Club selects residences around the Adrian local community — and past — each year in between the months of May well and September as the Yard of the Thirty day period. All those that are selected for the award are specified a signal for the entrance garden announcing that residence — or condominium — as the Garden of the Month.
